Win a trip for two to Nicaragua! Join one of Self-Help’s upcoming volunteer trips to meet those we serve and see firsthand the life-changing work we’re carrying out in Central America!
You’ll have a chance to spend a few days working with the individuals we serve in our programs to provide access to clean water, empower women through micro-credit loans and trainings, and work with farmers to teach improved agricultural practices.
Each itinerary is different based on volunteers skills and program needs. Previous trips have included planting seed alongside farmers, dining at a restaurant started by women in the micro-credit program, and visiting communities with full schools and empty health clinics now that they have clean water. Plus every trip includes a day or two or tourism walking the famous San Juan del Sur beaches, exploring the beautiful and historic city of Granada, touring the centuries-old El Castillo castle, taking a swim in the Lago de Apoyo lake, or even witnessing the spewing Masaya Volcano (featured in an upcoming documentary by National Geographic).
How do you enter to win? Simple! Just purchase a $30 entrance ticket, or send in your $30 in lieu of attendance and you are entered!
1st ticket: $30 includes admission to the spring gala where the winner will be drawn!

Please note, you cannot purchase raffle tickets online. Call Self-Help’s office at 319.352.4040 during business hours to purchase your ticket, or leave a voicemail and a number to reach you so we can return your call.
Tickets can be purchased in person or by phone until Thursday, April 27th at 5pm. Tickets may only be purchase in person on Friday, April 28th, 2017.
Winner will be announced at the spring gala on Friday, April 28th, 2017 at or shortly after 8PM. Winner need not be present to win.
*Trip includes round trip airfare and basic shared accommodation for 2 from an Iowa airport (or an airport of your choice at equal or lesser value) to Managua, Nicaragua during one of Self-Help’s regularly scheduled volunteer trips in 2017 or 2018.
