Felicia, a hardworking mother of six, has transformed her life and community with the support of Self-Help International.
As a farmer and entrepreneur, Felicia balances growing crops and running a grain resale business. Her journey with Self-Help began in their Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Development (AED) and Micro-Credit programs, where she received valuable training and financial support.
On her third loan cycle, she was granted GHS 2,000 ($135.14). With this funding, Felicia made bold strides. She hired 14 workers to help sow groundnuts (peanuts) and cowpeas for the season, ensuring a successful harvest. Additionally, she invested in a planter to streamline her farming operations.
The results have been life-changing. The profits from her hard work have not only allowed her to pay her workers but also enabled her to start building a home for her family—a long-held dream finally coming true.
“Self-Help International has been a great support to my life and family,” Felicia says. “With their help, I’ve grown my business, supported my workers, and secured a better future for my children.”
Felicia’s story exemplifies how financial empowerment and skills training can uplift individuals and communities, creating ripple effects of progress and hope.
